The year “2021"
It’s been a while on this side, I’m going to apologise for missing in action here. I guess you’ve all been living life too. Personally 2021 was/is a year of deep thoughts and partial clarity to my next phase in life. The year started with a lot of new year new me blah blah and people trying to read books and do all those stuff that makes one looks serious, then slow down and go back to the normal way of living.
Little wins: started a snack business with my friend this year, started my journey into Ui/Ux design, made new friends & I’m still alive, omo. Read a few books too and gained little knowledge on financial literacy. It could have only been God. I also cried a lot this year, withdrew myself from people and the world at a point, in other words just say I was battling mini depression. I had my first friendship breakup this year, that shits hurt than relationship breakup sha (i cried because of boy, story for another day). I even questioned my belief about why i’m really serving God or even believed in him in the first place & it was like nobody really understood me. I know I’m ranting let me stop here, 2021 thought me a few things i would love to share:
1. Nobody is indispensable
2. Some people will always be better than you in life, you have to come to peace with it.
3. Stop comparing myself with others, because it will make me dim my light
4. Make money, e get why
5. People prefer giving to the rich than the poor ( I mean look at Davido🥺)
6. The major one for me was don’t live your life like a movie prequel: in other words stop postponing your happiness, person fit die at any time.
Deep down I really don’t want 2021 to end, because this is my last year as a teen & i will really be forced to grow and do all those things adults do.
For 2022, I want to live life intentionally, show love to people around me & grow (no matter how little it might seem). By this time next year, I should also be a graduate. I’m so excited about the future.
